Obituary

James "Jim" William Kiedinger, Sr., beloved father and husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the age of 96 following a long illness.

Born in Beulah, FL on June 17, 1929, to the late Clifford Joseph and Emily Louise Kiedinger. Jim lived a long and full life marked by dedication, service, and love. A proud University of Florida Gator, he carried his school spirit throughout his life - always ready with a hearty "Go Gators!" at every opportunity.

After graduating from Tate High School, Jim answered his country's call and served honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean War. His time in the service shaped his strong sense of duty, discipline, and integrity - values that guided him throughout his life.

Upon leaving the Air Force, Jim attended the University of Florida and successfully earned his degree in Electrical Engineering. Jim worked in the aerospace industry and his work assignments took him and his family all over the US, living in Mississippi, South Carolina, California, Texas, and New Mexico; and abroad, living in Okinawa. They returned to Pensacola in 1972. He continued working in the aerospace industry as an electrical engineer at Eglin Air Force Base while living in Pensacola until 2012.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian, with whom he shared 70 wonderful years. He is survived by his devoted son, Jim, and daughter-in-law, Ruth; his cherished grandchildren, Sara and Brian, Brian's wife, Lauren; and his great-grandchildren, Lila and JJ.

Jim was an avid golfer, finding peace and camaraderie on the course and delighting in the simple pleasures of a well-struck shot and good company. His kindness, humor, and love of life touched everyone who knew him.

He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he enriched.
