Obituary

James Edgar "Jimbo" Turtle, III, 81, of Milton, FL passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Jimbo was born in Pensacola, FL on February 27, 1943. He graduated from PHS. James was an avid surfer and lifeguard on Pensacola Beach, which he loved. He was a great cook, had a profound love of music and even played in local bands with others around town on Pensacola Beach. James deeply loved the Lord, life, his family, friends and the Catholic faith. His laughter will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Jimbo is preceded in death by his parents, James & Carolyn Turtle; brother, Edward "Lee" Turtle; and his wife, Harrilee Santoro.

Survivors include his son, Tommy Turtle (Alyce) and his sister, Mary Frances Vallia (Larry); 1 niece and 3 nephews; as well as great nieces and great nephews.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:00am Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church, Milton, FL with Msgr. Michael Reed, celebrant. Committal will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Majella House, 5568 Woodbine Rd. #121, Pace, FL 32571 or to St. Vincent De Paul, 2200 W Desoto St., Pensacola, FL 32505.
