Jimmy Almon Holleman, 75, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2013. Jim was born in New Hill, NC on April 19, 1938. Jim attended Apex High School and Pensacola Junior College where he graduated in 1972. He served in the US Navy from May 1956 to March 1978. Upon retiring he lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for 4 years and worked as an English teacher to foreign nationals. He returned to the US in 1983 and established residence in Pensacola. His hobbies included: gardening, following financial news and the stock market, visiting with friends and pampering his many cats. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherwood A. Holleman; mother, Lessie Mae (Sandy) Holleman; and an infant daughter, Terrie Lynn Holleman. Survivors include his loving wife, Maria Regina Holleman of Pensacola, FL; son, Jimmy Glenn Holleman (Josie) of Dacula, GA; daughter, Rachel Mae Price (Coley) of Angier, NC; sisters, Sue Holleman Lester of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Willa Mae Frazier of Knightdale, NC and Christene Grogan (Johnny) of Raleigh, NC; as well as a brother, Jerry Holleman (Linda) of Sarcoxie, MO. Visitation will be held 9:00am until the Funeral Service to begin at 10:00am Monday, August 19, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Navy Hospital Staff for their excellent care given to Jim.
