Joan Louise Harris Milsted, 91, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024.

Joan was born on April 4, 1933, to Alfred and Lewisteene Harris in Pensacola, FL. After graduating from Pensacola Catholic High School in 1951, she worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in the purchasing department until 1960.

In 1954 she was engaged to Dudley Milsted, who was the love of her life. They were married on November 27, 1958, and subsequently had 4 children, Jeaneen Downey, Franceen Ward, Lorine Lane and Paul Milsted. They have 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and knitting for her large family.

Joan and Dudley enjoyed traveling and parading with the Krewe of Aphrodite, Karnival Kavaliers and Krewe of Lafitte. Joan also spent many years volunteering at St. Paul Catholic School and singing in the choir at St. Paul Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Lewisteene Harris and her husband, Dudley Milsted.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Jeaneen Downey, Franceen Ward and Lorine Lane; son, Paul Milsted; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held 10:00am until a Funeral Mass is celebrated at 11:00am Monday, September 23, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed at 10:45am. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park

Pallbearers will be Thomas Ward, Brandon Collins, Robert Hutton, Alex Ward, Joshua Collins and Troy Downey.
