Joana Wesley Adams passed away Friday, June 25, 2021 and, as her pastor wrote "stepped into the arms of her Savior". Joana was born November 6, 1955, in Ashland, Ky, to George G. Evans and Kathryn Murphy Evans. She graduated high school from London Central High School, Great Britain; received a degree in Business from Florida State University, a master's in Nursing from American Sentinel University and a master's in Business Administration.

Joana's last professional responsibility was Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at JPS Hospital, Fort Worth, Texas. Formerly, she was with the Sacred Heart Health System, Pensacola, FL., serving in several positions, the last as Vice President, Special Projects. She was also a consultant with The Studer Group during this time and received the Pillar Award for Service Excellence in 2007. Prior, Joana, as an R.N., developed Baptist Hospital Pensacola's Special Delivery obstetrical program and was the hospital's Women's Service Line Manager. She was designated Employee of the Month in January, 1994.

Surviving are her mother, Dr. Kathryn Evans and father, George G. Evans; husband, Richard Frank Adams, Sr.; son, Richard Frank (Briana) Adams, Jr.; daughter, Jordan Ann (Bobby) Meeks; siblings, Laurie Holley, Lynn (Jem) Sullivan, Julie Moore; aunt, Dr. Shirley Branan, three grandchildren and five nephews and nieces; as well as dear friends who, over the years, became family, Wanda Peebles and Debbie Bostic.

A memorial service will be held at McIlwain Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1220 E Blount St. Pensacola, Fl., Tuesday, July 6 at 11:30 am with Pastor Rob Looper officiating. The family will receive visitors prior to the service at the church from 10:00 am till 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made in Joana's name to Safe Harbor Pregnancy Medical Center.
