Mrs. Joanne "JoJo" Newton died peacefully after a prolonged illness at her home on June 17, 2017 in Pensacola, FL at the age of 62.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Ralph; her children, Lauren and Philip and her granddaughters, Annabelle, Juliette and Evelyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh Bernard O'Hara and Ann Patricia O'Hara.
Joanne was born on June 24, 1954 in Arlington, VA to Hugh Bernard O'Hara and Ann Patricia Murphy. She graduated from Bishop O'Connell High School in 1972. Joanne married Ralph Edwin Newton in 1981 in Falls Church, VA and later relocated to Pensacola with him when he retired in 2010. She loved Pensacola; its beaches, its waters and its people. Joanne enjoyed classic, "black and white" movies and loved to share film trivia with her friends and family. Joanne loved fashion, both following trends and setting her own. She was a joy to her mother-in-law, Mrs. Arlene Newton, with whom she shared a special bond. Joanne's greatest pleasure in life was her husband, children and granddaughters.
Visitation will be held at 9:30am, Thursday, June 22, 2017 with Memorial Services beginning at 10:00am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Joanne's brother, Fr. Jack O'Hara will officiate. A reception will follow at the Newton's home located at 1300 Creek Bridge Road, Pensacola, FL 32514. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joanne's life and her loving and generous nature.
