Obituary

Surrounded by family, Joe Carroll Primrose, age 70, of Pensacola, Florida went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 27, 2020.  Joe was born in Clovis, New Mexico.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Lowell and Billie Ruth Primrose and his brother, Jerry Primrose.

Joe was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who had a wonderful sense of humor.  Although his fight was long and difficult at times, he continued to the end to inspire his family and numerous friends.  He believed in being positive in all things and that laughter could be a mighty cure for most hardships.

Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force.  He graduated from Farmington High School and attended Elkins Institute of Broadcasting in Dallas, Texas.  He was a well-known radio broadcaster in New Mexico and Colorado and served on the Board of New Mexico Broadcasters for several years.  Aside from spending time with his family, Joe also loved to hunt and fish.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Linda Primrose, of Pensacola, Florida; five children, Tammy Primrose Heard, of Farmington,  New Mexico, Carol Mace (Rick) of Breckenridge Texas, Michael Primrose (Zach) of Denver, Colorado, Angela Chism (David) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Kevin Bass (Vicki)  of Pensacola, Florida;  13 grandchildren, Christopher, Kai, Daizan, Tommy, Daniel, Nicole, Deannette, Richard, Michael, Ryan, Jason, David and Brittany; six great grandchildren.  Joe's memory will also be cherished by his numerous friends.

A memorial service to honor the life of Joe Carroll Primrose will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, March 20, 2020, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Mike Mashburn, officiating.  An inurnment service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, with military honors being accorded by the United States Air Force.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Sacred Heart Hospital, the Interventional Radiology Department of Sacred Heart Hospital, the Sacred Heart Oncology Center and Covenant Care Hospice for the loving care shown to Joe and his family throughout his illness.
