Joe L. Sharit, Jr., 93, of Pensacola, FL died on Friday, June 26, 2020.

Joe was born in Port St. Joe, FL on December 29, 1926 to Josiah L. Sharit (Florida State Senator) and Josephine Brown Sharit. Joe served in World War II and later graduated from Emory University and the University of Florida School of Law. Joe practiced law in Tampa and Winter Haven, FL for over 40 years. He was President of the Florida Club of Winter Haven and a State Director of the Orange Bowl Committee for many years. Joe was a pilot and yachtsman.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Bennett Sharit; a son, Joe L. Sharit III and a grandson, Charles B. Rice.

Joe is survived by his wife, Evelyn Bell Neal Sharit of Pensacola and daughter, Barbara Bennet Rice and grandchildren, Joel B. Rice and Barbara Rice Smith of Atlanta, Georgia. Joe is also survived by stepchildren, Robin Neal Sharit, Nancy Neal Wilcox and Steve Neal.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
