Joe Hughes of Pensacola, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the age of 92.

Joe was born in Hartford, AL and was a World War II Veteran, serving in the Navy. He also retired from Civil Service after 24 years. Joe was an avid gardener and loved to fish. He was a member of Burgess Road Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his 7 sisters, 6 brothers and his beloved wife of 68 years, Doris Garrett Hughes.

Joe is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Wiggins; son, William Clay (Jenifer) Hughes; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until the funeral service begins at 12:30 pm on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Burgess Road Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Cooley officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church, Chumuckla, FL.

Honorary Pallbearer will be G. C. Polk.

Active Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hughes, Johnny Hughes, Donny Hughes, JoLee Hughes, Jr. Graham and Bobby Cassidy.
