John Kenneth Amargo, 73, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025.

A Pensacola native and lifelong resident, John was a loving husband to the love of his life Brenda, an awesome Dad, and a fun PaPa to his grandkids and great grandkids. John was an excellent craftsman. He built boats, houses, and even repaired planes. He could fix just about anything! He worked very hard for his family and retired from Eglin AFB in 2014. He loved fishing and throwing his cast net. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, exploring, and having fish fries. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He raised box turtles and butterflies in the backyard and even fed the neighbor's pets too. John had a big record collection and loved all kinds of music. He was even a part-time radio DJ at one time. He spent many nights playing his guitar and singing songs with his brothers. He was a great storyteller, and his humor would always make you laugh. There was never a boring moment with "Jake Diamond" around.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Ruby and Harry Lockart, and Rosalinda and Isidro Amargo; siblings, Eddie, Donna, Janet, Linda, Larry, Jerry, Ronnie, and Flavio; as well as a granddaughter, Keely.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda; children, Angel Malsch (Billy), Tara Papillion (Sean), and Kenny Amargo (Angie); his siblings, Judy, Jimmy, Julia, Bayin, Ira, Sylvia, Pat, and Linda; six grandkids, three great grandkids, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 3:00pm-5:00pm Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504.

Funeral Service will be held 12:00pm Monday, December 15, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Mike Mashburn officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
