John was a proud Army Veteran, and served two tours in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne, B CO, Lancers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Whiting Hargis Andrews, Jr. and Jane Thames Andrews and his brothers, Robert "Bobby" Andrews and Whiting Andrews, III.

He is survived by his daughters, Jocelyn Jordan (Brian) and Rheannon Ellison (Brad); grandchildren, Hannah Ellison, Gavin Jordan and Abigail Jordan; his brother, Tommy Andrews; niece, Monica Andrews Willis and great-nephew, Cole Willis; as well as extended family and many friends he called brothers.

Visitation will be held 11:30am until a Funeral Service to begin at 12:30pm Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. William "Bill" Broach officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
