IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John-Annie
Roberts
November 8, 1929 – March 19, 2025
John-Annie Roberts, 95, peacefully went to be with her Lord at her home on, Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
She was born in Opp, AL on November 8, 1929, to Rena Hickman Kendrick and Clifford E. Kendrick. In 1953, her family moved to Pensacola to begin her career at the newly opened Chemstrand (Monsanto), from which she retired. Her grandchildren still talk about the fun they had at the Chemstrand Christmas parties.
John-Annie and the love of her life, husband, Hal Roberts, enjoyed many years of boating, fishing, and traveling with their many friends. After Hal's passing, she found a new hobby, collectibles. She frequented estate sales to grow her prized collections. Precious Moments, Fostoria, porcelain birds, bird houses, lighthouses, and books were among her treasures. But most treasured were her huge collection of friends she made through her work at Monsanto, through her church and Sunday school class at Mrytle Grove United Methodist Church, and during the many offices she held in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was initiated into Eastern Star Pensacola Chapter # 253 in December 1958. She and Hal served as Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron in 1964-1965. She served as Grand Representative of Iowa in Florida the following three years. In 1977, she was honored with the Grand Office of Ruth in Florida.
John-Annie was a wonderful cook, incredible seamstress and avid gardener. She was immensely proud of her family and followed their accomplishments with love.
John-Annie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Bradley Kendrick; and sister, Voncile Kendrick.
She will be remembered by her four children, Cecil Clark (Becky), Harold Clark (Margot), Susan Taylor (Johnny), and James Roberts (Ann); six grandchildren, Christina Clark (John Hartley), Jonathan Clark (Virginia), Jaimie Clark-Soles, Jennifer Clark, Debbie Turner (Daryl), Tracy Pickle, James Roberts, Jr., and Katie Roberts; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and her devoted friend Sheila Romaine.
The Order of Eastern Star Service followed by a Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church, with Pastor Riley Richardson officiating. A Private Family burial will be held at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank her caregivers Tracy and family, Cecile, Gabriel, Patrice, Emerald Coast Hospice, and the Council of Aging for enabling her to stay home as she wished.
Memorials may be made to the Hal W. Roberts Scholarship at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church, 1030 N. 57th Avenue., Pensacola, FL 32506.
