John Paden "Bucky" May, 71, of Pensacola passed away May 22, 2014. He was born in Bessemer, AL on April 5, 1943, to the late Doris and John May. He graduated from Escambia High School. John was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after four years active duty service 1966. He later joined the Air Force Reserves where he served as a Gunner on AC-130 "Spectre" Gunships at Duke Field, before achieving the rank of Master Sergeant and retiring in 2003. John is survived by his wife, Mexine; two children, Melanie and Marc; three grandsons and one granddaughter. John was loved by many and had numerous close friends in the community and was known to most as "Sugarboy". Visitation will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel beginning at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 with a Memorial service at 12:00 p.m. (noon). Interment will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery with Air Force Military honors.
