John Burke Day, 70, of Pensacola, FL., passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

John was born in Pensacola on August 22, l950. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

John attended public school in Pensacola including the University of West Florida where he earned a master's degree. While at UWF he was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He formed many close friendships that continued through his life.

John's primary employment was with Gayfers and the parent company Mercantile Stores. Here too he established friendships that have lasted through the years.

For many years John was on dialysis at Fresenius Corporate Woods. He enjoyed a great relationship with staff and fellow patients. The family appreciates the care John received at Fresenius.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Woodward and Ellen Day.

He is survived by his sisters, Shirley Baer, Ellen Garrett (Ullman) and Jeanine Krueger; brother, Woodward Day (Cloice); many nieces and nephews and his loyal canine companion, Sasha.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Bayview Memorial Park with Reverend Randy Blankschaen officiating.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 12912, Pensacola, FL 32591-2912.

Due to the Covid-19 Virus the traditional gathering of family and friends following the funeral will be delayed to a later date.
