John Earl Edlund, Jr., 74, of Cantonment, FL passed away unexpectedly in his home on Thursday, July 16, 2015. He retired from the City of Pensacola after 30 years, then went to work at the family owned business, Saufley Landfill until it was sold. He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Earl", Sr. and Viola Edlund. John is survived by his wife, Rosemary of 49 years; 4 children, Johnny (Pam) Edlund, III, Robin (Jayme) Ward, Tina (Larry) Meadows and Jerry (Chris) Smith; 9 grandchildren, Paul (Tristen), Anthony, Johnny IV, Jeremy, Tiffany (Jared), Charlsey (James), Cody, James and Gabrielle; 9 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Geri Henderson, Ellen Varotti and Cathy Edlund along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Monday, July 20, 2015 with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30pm from Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. Stephens Roman Catholic Church with The Rev. Fr. Hector R. G. Perez, STD celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his son-in-laws and grandson, Jayme Ward, Larry Meadows, Chris Smith, Cody Martin, Jeremy Peeterse and James Ward.
