Obituary

John Garger, 95, of Cantonment, FL passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011. He was born in Northhampton, PA to John and Anna Garger. He was the oldest of 16 brothers and sisters who he loved dearly. John served in the Army for several years sending most of his paycheck home to help out his family. He lived for several years in California and then moved to Roanoke, VA with his wife, two children and his brother Lou where he worked for 35 years in the Textile industry. There he and LaFawn had their third child. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, LaFawn Garger; son, John Jay Garger of Richmond, VA; daughters, LaFawn Joslin of Green Bay, WI and Esther (Warren) Culbertson of Cantonment, FL; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and special brother, Mike (Janet) Garger of Allentown, PA. Visitation will be held from 11am-12noon on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 12noon for Barrancas National Cemetery where graveside services will be held at 12:30pm. The family wishes to give special Thanks to Covenant Hospice for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
