John Sidney Gaynoe, 77, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
John was born on June 10, 1945, in Ft. Walton Beach, FL to Maurice and Helen Gaynoe. He joined the US Navy and served honorably during Vietnam. John graduated from Auburn University in 1970. He held many positions in Finance over his career, including being a stockbroker, trading commodities, and managing brokerage offices. His family and friends will remember him fondly for his love of Auburn Football, refereeing high school football, boating, fishing, and writing.
John is survived by his seven children, John Reagan Gaynoe, Carolyn Bradshaw (Murphy), Angela Dennis (Bobby), David Gaynoe, Michelle Benzinger (Chris), Mat Patterson (Gaynelle), and Julie Dimitriades-Catt (Melinda); 16 grandchildren; his twin brother, Mark Gaynoe; his sisters, Tracy Ragsdale and Susan Campelino; his brother, Tommy Gaynoe.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Monday, November 14, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be held 12:00noon Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze, with Msgr. Luke Hunt celebrant. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with Navy Honors.
Pallbearers will be David Gaynoe, Mat Patterson, John Reagan Gaynoe, Murphy Bradshaw, Bobby Dennis, and Chris Benzinger.
