Obituary

John Huey Glover, 65, of Pensacola passed away on July 29, 2012. Mr. Glover was born and grew up in Birmingham, AL. He served in the US Air Force and then began his career at Winn Dixie where he worked for over 10 years. During that time he married his loving wife Tanna and moved to Pensacola where he resided for the past 41 years. After leaving Winn Dixie, Mr. Glover faithfully served the Department of Defense as a civilian for 33 years. He spent 16 years serving in NADEP at NAS Pensacola and then transferred to AFSOC at Hurlburt Field where he served for 17 years. He retired from AFSOC as Chief of Logistics Resources Branch. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful servant to his Lord, his family and his church. He was a member of East Brent Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Mary Maynard Glover and children, John Allen and Mary Louise. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tanna Fillingim Glover; sons, John Thomas Glover (Alisa) of Marietta, GA and Matthew Kyle Glover (Amanda) of Birmingham, AL; his sister, Judy Cobern, of Birmingham, AL; and five grandchildren; Abby, Anna Grace, Collin, Isaac and Jack. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 2, 2012, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM Friday, August 3, 2012 at East Brent Baptist Church, with Dr. Dale Patterson. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
