John Frederick Hufford, 76, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away at home on February 20, 2021. He was born on April 27, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late James (Jim) and Loretta Hufford. After graduating from Landon High School, he went on to earn a degree in business administration from the University of Florida. A real estate appraiser with an MAI designation from the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, John was president of the local chapter of the Appraisal Institute and owner of The Hufford Company in Pensacola until his retirement in 2017.

He was active with the Fiesta of Five Flags, Rebellaires, and the Order of Tristan and served as Knight in the 1993 Court of DeLuna. He was president of the Northwest Florida Gator Club. A longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Pensacola, John served on the Session and played on the church softball and basketball teams, where he excelled in heckling members of both teams and officials.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother David Hufford of Metairie, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie Glenn (Jeanie) Hufford; his daughter, Catherine (Cathy) Tilman, and her husband, Dean, of Atlanta, Georgia; his son John Jr. (Jay) of Brooklyn, New York; his son James (Jim) and his wife, Nina, of Berkeley, California; and his grandchildren, Gracie and Nickel Tilman and Oliver Hufford. He is also survived by his sisters, Susan Hufford and Tina Hufford.
He will be missed by his many friends and his family. Due to Covid-19, the celebration of life will be limited to family only. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to First Presbyterian Church, 33 E Gregory St, Pensacola, Florida, 32502.
