John J. Jack Parks, 70, of Pensacola, FL died Sunday, February 5, 2012. Jack was born of January 14, 1942 in Omaha, NE. He attended Creighton Preparatory and Undergraduate Schools in Omaha, and the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, CA. Professionally Jack was an editor, writer and photographer in the U.S. and abroad. Following retirement he continued private work in communications, writing and design. Jack also belonged to the Pensacola Photography Club, was an old time movie buff, an avid techy and devoted grandpa. His parents and a sister preceded him in death. Jack will be remembered by his two sisters, a longtime companion and her family. A Memorial Mass will celebrated at 9:30am Thursday, February 9, 2012 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (Small Chapel), with Msgr. Michael Reed, celebrant. Jacks cremains will be laid to rest in Omaha NE. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to National Public Radio. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
