John E. Mancill, Jr., 76, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

John was born June 28, 1941 in Fairhope, AL and has resided in the Pensacola area for over 30 years. He joined the US Navy August 24, 1962 and retired after 20 years of honorable service with the rank of E6. After leaving the Navy, he worked and ultimately retired from Pete Moore Chevrolet where he served over 30 years. His passion has always been the Krewe of Lafitte which he has been a member of for 25 years. He recently finished his reign as Jean Lafitte the LXIII. Lafitte has always been the biggest honor he wanted to hold and looked forward to in his Krewe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Clarissa Mancill.

John is survived by his wife, Patsy Whiddon; children, Monica (Daniel) Hernandez, Jason (Elise) Mancill, Kevin (Karen) Whiddon and Cameron Whiddon; brothers, Charles (Diana) Mancill and Paul (Marcia) Mancill; sister, Kathy (Craig) Taylor; grandchildren, Andrew (Kourtney) Gibson, Jordan Hernandez, Alaina (Brandon) Pugh, Josh Hernandez, Alicen (Amos) Miller, Cassie Hernandez, Chase Mancill, Jackson Mancill, Trinity Mancill, Samantha Estes and Avery Whiddon; as well as 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-4pm Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 11:30am Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jim Bell officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with military honors.
