John Francis McCullen, Jr., 82, of Pensacola, FL passed away January 19, 2023.

John was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 28, 1940, to John F. McCullen Sr. and Mary (McCauley) McCullen. He proudly served in the US Army for 23 years in the Medical Corps, including service in combat as a medic during the Vietnam War. John went to night school for 16 years to earn his Masters Degree and had a second career in the medical field as a Nursing Home Administrator.

He is preceded in death by two sons, William Patrick McCullen, and Timothy Shawn McCullen, both of Pensacola.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Bettye Sue (McDaniel) McCullen, of Pensacola, FL; their son, Michael Kevin McCullen, of Chattanooga, TN. John was one of 7 siblings, and is survived by his sisters, Laurie Morgan of Philadelphia, PA, Monica (Ginger) Simmons, of Taylors, SC, and Bernadette Carrick, of Beaverton, OR. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Caelan Jewell McCullen of Chattanooga and Elijah Shawn McCullen of Pensacola.

Visitation will be held 10:30am until a Funeral Mass to begin at 11:30am Thursday, January 26, 2023 at St Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
