John George
Mock
September 22, 1948 – May 14, 2024
John G. Mock, age 75, of Pensacola, FL, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Lewistown, PA to the late Jacob D. and Teresa L. Wynkoop Mock in 1948 but grew up in Gulf Breeze, FL and settled in Pensacola, FL having attended St. Michael's Elementary, Pensacola Catholic High School and then went on to attend PJC. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and had written the newsletter there for a time which he really enjoyed.
John was a self-made Lithographer working in commercial printing most of his life, and he absolutely loved what he did. He had served as a former president of the MacIntosh Club in Pensacola. John's passion was music and dancing, he loved all kinds of music and styles of dance. Photo restoration was another hobby of his, he was really gifted at bringing old photos back to life. He loved his country and had great respect for our veterans, he was a big patriot. He loved to support our troops and would have served himself, unfortunately for health reasons he was unable to do so.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by two brothers, Dick "Dickie" Mock and Harry G. Mock.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Michele Mock; his sister-in-law, Shirley A. Blanchard, of Crestview, FL; a brother-in-law, Frank H. Miller, II (Virgina), of Reliance, TN; nephews, Bryan Blanchard (Kayla), of Chumuckla, FL, Brad Blanchard (Heather), Ft. Collins, CO, and Bryan Keller; a niece, Traci Miller; great nieces and nephews, Madelyn, Hayleigh, Jackson, Maxwell, Malcolm Blanchard; and a cousin, Teresa Baker "Terry Lou", Berryville, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Holy Cross Cemetery, with Dr. William Whibbs, serving as officiant. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at Holy Cross Cemetery at the Mausoleum at 10:50 AM on Monday. Honorary pallbearers are Bryan Blanchard and William Brad Blanchard.
