John L. Myrick died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 - he was 74 years old. John grew up primarily in Fairhope, AL and graduated high school from (the then) McGill Institute, Mobile, AL. He then went on to his father's alma mater, the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and Juris Doctorate.  He served and retired as a Captain in the Army Reserves.  John practiced law from 1972-2020 in Pensacola.

John enjoyed sailing, jogging, and especially, traveling. He and his wife enjoyed many trips together - traveling to see historic archaeological sites and "old rocks" as he dubbed them.  John loved extended stays in New York City - especially the great Italian food, wine, museums, Yankees games and Broadway shows. He stayed an avid Florida football fan, going to great lengths to always "see the game!" He will be remembered for his kind laugh and big smile. John was a lector, Eucharistic Minister, finance committee member and loyal parishioner of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He also loved his North Hill neighborhood and could be seen walking in the early morning hours often.

His parents, Mae and Lanier Myrick both of Fairhope, AL, preceded John in death.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Storey-Myrick, Pensacola, FL; daughter, Brooke Myrick Lovelace, Nashville, TN; brother, Paul Myrick, Fairhope, AL; sister, Tish Myrick Cloniger, Duluth, GA; as well as his mother in-law; father-in-law, son-in-law; three grandchildren; a sister-in-law; brother-in-law; three nephews and a niece.

A funeral mass will be held at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 19 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL 32502 on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 9:30am with the Very Reverend Joseph P. Callipare, Celebrant. Burial will be at the Myrick farm, Canoe, AL.
