John N. Hufford of Pensacola passed away peacefully on June 4, 2015, at Bayside Manor. He waited until his beloved daughter and wife could be at his side to take his last breath and be with Jesus. He was born on August 21, 1933, in Winfield, Kansas to John H. Hufford and Hulda R. Hansen. He was an honorable man all his life, a hard worker, a good son, an outstanding father, a loving grandfather, and an exceptional husband. His friends called him "genuine," and a "good buddy." In his younger years John had a strong desire to serve his country, and he joined the U.S. Army. He also performed his civic duties by being active in the Jaycees. In his mature years, after having worked in banking and the finance business, he enjoyed living in Pensacola where he could play golf, his passion, all year long. He loved his church, Gadsden Street United Methodist, and contributed his time and talents as treasurer for several years. John also liked to travel to Germany, where he had met his wife Hannah 58 years before. He very much cared for her family and friends. He is survived by his wife Hannah, his daughter Cindy Kimball, his twin grandsons Nicholas and Brandon Kimball, and his nephew Robert Erickson. The Memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at the Gadsden Street United Methodist Church, 901 East Gadsden Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Gadsden Street United Methodist Church or to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center. The family would like to especially thank all of the hardworking health care personnel who were involved in his care.
