Obituary

Deacon John Phillip Morgan, 85, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017.
John was born on March 30, 1932 in Chaffee, MO. He served in the US Air Force as an Airport Control Operator in the Korean War. John received the Japanese Occupation Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. He worked in Real Estate, was a Mortgage Broker, was a member of the Board of Realtors, also was Director of permanent Deacons for the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. He was ordained a Deacon on May 10, 1980.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dean Morgan; children, David Morgan, Anne Faass, Joseph Morgan (fiancé, Tina Faucher), Teresa Maleki (Hossein) and Christine Haskew (Robert); 11 grandchildren, Rachael & Terry Farrington, Jason Sparks, Brian Sparks, Melissa Pare, Joey & Rylie Morgan, Jennifer & Jason Taylor, Jillian Morgan, Anthony Maleki, Michael Maleki, Branden & Sarah Haskew and Kristy & Tommy Cihota; 18 great-grandchildren, Dakota Henley, Kameron Henley, Noah Henley, Layla Farrington, Liliy Sparks, Jaxson Sparks, Makayla Pare, Jazmyne Pare, Marley Bertz, Layla Pare, Hunter & Morgan Taylor, Harley & Nicholas Morgan, Gracie Ballwey, Carter Cihota and Bennett Haskew; one brother, David Mac Morgan, Sr.(Pat); as well as many nieces, nephews and adopted family, Miguel, Eddy, Michael, Stephanie, Jonathan and Brianna Gutierrez-Diaz, David Tsikirus and Fran Gerard; and many friends and acquaintances.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Celebration of Evening Prayer to begin at 5pm with Fr. Joseph Callipare officiating.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00am Thursday, June 22, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3121 Hyde Park Rd., Pensacola, FL, with Fr. Doug Halsema celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Branden Haskew, Anthony Maleki, Michael Maleki, Tommy Cihota, Jason Taylor and Jason Sparks.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Fr. George Thekku and Fr. Tom Koyickal; as well as Uncle David and Aunt Patty Lou for your gracious generosity, love and support, Fr. Joseph Callipare, Fr. Doug Halsema, Deacon Richard Lurton and Covenant Care Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church Building Fund as well as Masses said for Deacon John Morgan.
