The eldest of six children Joe served as an Altar Boy while attending Catholic Schools in Mobile, AL (Little Flower, St. Dominic). A 1970 graduate of Lansdale Catholic High School, located in a suburb of Philadelphia, PA, Joe participated in numerous school theatrical presentations including "Oklahoma" and "South Pacific." He was recognized as one of the brightest in his graduating class. Joe continued his education at the Columbia School of Broadcasting in Philadelphia and The University of South Alabama in Mobile. Known throughout the United States for his conservative political views, Joe participated in the successful elections of numerous local and national office holders and ran unsuccessfully for the Florida Legislature. Joe never wavered in his beliefs and refused to surrender to political correctness. As a life-long friend commented; Joe "was able to distill complex political issues into action with unfailing humor and unrivaled pragmatism." He maintained an extensive and active social media following of thousands across the United States. Joe was rightfully proud of his Irish and George Washington heritage. His lineage can be traced to that of our nation's founding father. He was a member of the National Society of Washington Family Descendants.
In retirement, Joe could be found daily either working out at the YMCA or smoking cigars and playing the harmonica with friends at Cordova Cigars. He was routinely called upon for advice and council for a host of issues and could be relied upon to help anyone in need. He had a unique way of making people feel good about themselves.
