Joseph Palazzo, 77, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

He was born and raised and spent most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He proudly served in the armed forces for 12 years in the United States Army.  Joe was an excellent craftsman and worked for Prospect Mold and Die and Akromold. He spent time in his earlier days racing stock cars and speed boats.  This came from a love of watching NASCAR every chance he got.  From 1979 to 2003, he never missed a Greater Akron Motorcycle Club Annual Centurion Poker Run. Joe moved to Pensacola after retirement in 2005 where he loved to go boating and riding his motorcycle.  His mornings would not have been the same without tea at Seville Quarter. He loved to socialize and, in the evenings, enjoyed playing dominoes with his friends.  Joe especially loved to help others with their cars, motorcycles, boats, mowers, and computers and was an accomplished handyman.  He was most happy when he was fixing something.

He was a loving father and grandfather who will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Schweda and his beloved African Grey Parrot of 36 years, Sinbad.

Joe is survived by his sister, Sally Katz (Alan) of Akron, OH; daughter, Rosemary Lazzaro (Richard) of Louisville, KY; sons, Jeffery Palazzo (Elsie) of Pensacola, FL and Johnny Palazzo of Canton, OH; grandsons, Aaron and Alex Lazzaro, and Anthony and Michael Palazzo and granddaughters Ashley and Kristen Palazzo.

Visitation will be held 9:00am until the Funeral Service begins at 10:00am Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Chaplin Ken Griffin officiating. Committal service at Barrancas National Cemetery to follow.
