Joyce McLain Gay 1931-2016 Joyce McLain Gay, 85, of Cantonment, FL passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016.

Joyce was born in Bush, LA on February 27, 1931. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at the American Legion Post #490. An avid bowler Joyce won many trophies for her bowling skills. She was a homemaker whose life revolved around her family, everyone of whom she loved with her whole heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy V. Gay; son, Kenny Gay; parents, James Ellis and Ethel (Taylor) McLain; brothers, Alvin, Alton, Sidney and Lawrence McLain and sister, Essie McLain Cleveland.

Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Keith and Missi Gay; grandson and his fiancée Austin Gay and Brittney White; sisters, Betty Albin, Mamie Keller and Mavis McManus (Casey); brothers, Jim McLain (Frances), Eugene McLain, Donald McLain, David McLain, Stanley McLain (Mary Ann), Stephen McLain (Debbie) and Raymond McLain (Mary); sister-in-law, Maxine Hill (Grant); as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be 11:00am Monday, June 20, 2016 followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Ken Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Active Pallbearers will be her grandson, Austin Gay, Drew Dice, Rusty Estle, Keifer Johnson, Caleb Krisher and Steven Wilson.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the Emergency Room Staff at West Florida Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital for their professional care and support.
