Joycelyn "Joyce" Tucker, 92, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Joyce was born in New Orleans, LA on June 30, 1929. At a young age her family relocated to Bradenton, FL. She was a 1947 graduate of Bradenton High School, then went on to Florida State University where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. While at FSU, she met Thomas N. Tucker of Pensacola, FL who became her husband in 1951. Joyce taught school in Pensacola for over 30 years. Most of those years were spent at O.J. Semmes Elementary School where she enjoyed the friendship of fellow teachers and aides and working with children in all elementary grades. After retirement, Joyce enjoyed travel including trips abroad and cruising the Mediterranean Sea with friends and relatives. She was an avid sports fan who delighted in cheering on the FSU Seminoles. Joyce enjoyed playing tennis and golf, especially on weekend golf trips with friends to Alabama and Georgia. Another of Joyce's favorite pastimes was bridge. She loved playing and socializing with her bridge group friends regularly. Getting together with her Saturday lunch group was a weekly event Joyce looked forward to, immensely enjoying the time with her dear friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas N. Tucker; her parents, John and Florence Bacigalupi and her brother, Charles Bacigalupi.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Campbell (John) of Memphis, TN, Gayle Peaden (John) and Thomas Tucker, Jr. (Alicia) of Pensacola; her grandchildren, Alan Sala (Allison), Patrick Sala (Abby), Marci Waller (Brian), and Alyssa Tucker; as well as six great-grandchildren.

Joyce raised three children whom she dearly loved and was grateful to have lived a long, blessed life.

Visitation will be held 9:00am until the Funeral Service to begin at 10:00am Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with the Very Reverend Joseph Callipare officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Pensacola.
