Obituary

Joyia B. Etheridge Redman left us Tuesday, June 5, 2012, to take up a residence in heaven that's been waiting for her. She was a Christian and a member of Brownsville Baptist Church. She is survived by her new grandson, Chase; her son, Jonathan and his wife, Holly; her mom, Joyce and her dad, Glen; her brother, Randy and his wife Jamie; her brother, Mike and her sister, Jill. She is also survived by the man she loved so many years, Richard Langford. Joyia was a member of Krewe of Aphrodite, Maids of Luna and Fiesta Frolickers. She loved being part of these organizations and loved the friends that she made along the way. Her greeting, "Hey Girlfriend" could be heard from afar! Those who knew her were aware of her extreme loyalty to the University of Alabama Football Team. When Joyia left us a star fell from the universe and the sun dimmed. Our hearts have a scar that will never heal. She was our diamond, our orchid, our joy. If there were more Joyias, this would be a great world. We are fortunate to have many, many good memories to last us a lifetime. Till we meet again, spread your new wings and fly Joyia! Funeral Service will be held 6:00pm Friday, June 8, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with a visitation to follow the service. Pastor Dan Livingston will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hadji Shrine Children's Transportation Fund, 800 West Nine Mile Rd., Pensacola, FL 32534. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
