IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith "Judy"
Bell Perry
October 15, 1916 – June 19, 2017
Judith "Judy" Bell Perry, 100, of Pensacola, FL died peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017. Born October 15, 1916 to Randall Ray and Petrea Olsen Bell in Pensacola and raised in East Hill, she graduated from Pensacola High School in 1934 and Florida State College for Women in 1938 with a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce. She married Navy Pilot Bill Perry of Bradford, MA in June of 1945. They traveled extensively together during his tenure as a professor at Boston University. Judy worked for many years at the Katherine Gibbs School in the Back Bay area of Boston.
While Aunt Judy and Uncle Bill never had children of their own, she was loved and adored by so many for her endless southern style, quick wit, charm and grace, including 12 nieces and nephews, 30 great nieces and nephews and 10 great great nieces and nephews. She was the ultimate lady.
Shortly after her beloved Bill's death in 1975, Judy moved back home to Pensacola where her brother Randall and sister Shirley were living and raising their families. She immediately began her involvement in her community, enjoying the activities of Pensacola including the beach, crabbing, boating and of course, her family. She was constantly on the go with her sister Shirley and their friends playing bridge, volunteering at the First Presbyterian Church, assisting the Tiger Bay Club, numerous other local arts and cultural organizations and traveling at every opportunity. She brought with her the recipe from the historic Colonial Inn in Concord, MA a delicious but dangerous adult beverage named The Flintlocke. The recipe included the specific instructions: "May not be served to minors, Redcoats (changed to Rednecks upon the move south) or hostile Indians…avoid all contact with powder, spark or flame". Her Flintlockes were shared with any and all brave enough, and in accordance with the previously mentioned instructions, to give them a try.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Barbara Bell Marcoux, and brother Randall Ray Bell, Jr.
