Judith East Kicker, 75, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 15, 2018 at her residence. Judi was born in Birmingham, AL on September 24, 1942 to Hugh and Bettye East. She is survived by her beloved husband of over 50 years, CAPT Charles K. Kicker, USN, (Ret) of Pensacola, FL.
Judi was a dedicated wife and mother. Her foundation of faith was fueled by her passion for God and unparalleled generosity toward people. As a career Navy wife, her fortitude and strength served as the anchor of her family and deepened her love for this country. In the years beyond their time in the military, Judi was active in her church and community. Working at Sacred Heart Hospital for over 20 years, she impacted countless lives of those who came in contact with her. She loved watching Alabama football on Saturdays (Roll Tide Roll!), Broadway shows at the Saenger Theatre and spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Her love for family ran deep and wide and she was greatly loved in return.
She is further survived by her sister, Dianne (Joseph) Piazza of Birmingham, AL; her brother, Richard of Ozark, AL; her children, Ken (Jenny) Kicker of Ft. Worth, TX and Josh (Lydia) Kicker of Virginia Beach, VA; her granddaughter, Alex and her grandsons, Ethan, Ryan, Will and Joel Kicker.
Judi's Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Harper- Morris Memorial Chapel on Airport Blvd. Visitation with the family will be held from 9:30-10:30am with the service being held at 10:30am. Burial follows at 12:00pm at Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family is accepting floral condolences or, if preferred, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
