Judith A. Short Gilbert, 90, of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021.

Mrs. Gilbert was born on November 21, 1930 in Sault Ste Marie, MI as an Army "Brat" and lived in many different places. Most notably, she was a 1948 graduate of Frankfort American High School, Germany. She enjoyed working as an Executive Secretary for Hospice of Marin in San Rafael, CA and for the Bishop of Rhode Island, Providence, RI. After retiring, she enjoyed volunteering her time as a mentor for elementary children in the Pensacola, FL area. She belonged to the Retired Officer's Wives Club and started a clown group at Azalea Trace called "Clown Alley". She loved to laugh and had a smile for everyone.

Mrs. Gilbert is preceded in death by her husband, George A. Gilbert, Jr.; parents, Jennie A. and Harold Short; son, Mathew Gilbert; brother, Ronald Short; twin brothers, Joseph Short and Harold Short, Jr.

She is survived her son, Mark Gilbert of San Rafael, CA; daughter, Kathryn Cantrall and her husband, Charlie of Suisun, CA; brother, Jewel Short and wife, Donna of Sacramento, CA; sister-in-laws, Margie Short of El Paso, TX, Sara Short of Rogers, AR; granddaughter, Michele Zorrilla (Bosco) of Los Angeles, CA; grandson, Brian Zorrilla and his wife Stephanie of Marysville, CA; great grandson, A1c  Brian Zorrilla of Cheyanne, WY; great grandson, Jayden Zorrilla; great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Zorrilla both of Marysville, CA and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 1:00pm for Barrancas National Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 1:30pm on Friday, May 14, 2021. Fr. Robert Dixon will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to be made to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
