IN LOVING MEMORY OF
June Quinlivan
Baker
November 24, 1933 – March 9, 2021
June Quinlivan Baker, the epitome of southern charm, wit, grace and moral discipline, passed away peacefully at her home on March 9, 2021. She was born November 24, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama; the daughter of the late Marie Delahunty Quinlivan and James Raphael Quinlivan. She attended the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. In 1952, she transferred to Springhill College, to become one of the first women to attend the previously all male Jesuit College. She graduated with honors earning a B.S. in Sociology in 1955. June moved to Pensacola, Florida soon after marrying William (Bill) Baker, Sr. on September 17, 1955. June proudly served as a goodwill ambassador on the Azalea Trail Court. She was a member of the Krewe of Pierrettes. June supported the many charitable and community organizations her husband, Bill chaired. June had an unwavering Catholic faith. She served on the Sacred Heart Cathedral Alter Society. She attended Saint Paul Catholic Church.
Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William Costello Baker, Sr., daughters Linda Baker Brown (Gary), Dr. Blaine Baker Payne (Phil); sons William C. Baker, Jr. (Prebble), Quin Baker (Christie); her grandchildren: Dr. Mike Meador (Ashley) of Fairhope; Jack Meador (Rachael) of Mobile, Shane Payne (Tiana), Sanders Payne, Blakeley Baker and Quin Baker, Jr.; her great-grandchildren: Irie Anne Meador, Miriam Meador, O'Neill Meador of Fairhope, and Stella Meador of Mobile. She is also survived by her brother, James Quinlivan Jr., a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers John Quinlivan and Jay Quinlivan, and her grandson, Adam William Baker. The family would like to thank her caregivers Trudye, Muff and Jodi for so lovingly caring for mom.
June would wish all to remember her with smiles of a life lived her way, to its fullest, and not with any tears shed. She is now the belle of the ball in heaven.
