Junice Ricks Barfield 1927-2009 Junice Ricks Barfield, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2009, with her family by her side. Mrs. Barfield was born in Chipley, FL, on Thanksgiving Day in 1927 and graduated from high school in Graceville, FL. She married her high school sweetheart, Angus Douglas Barfield, on November 28, 1948 in Chipley and moved to Ft Walton Beach where she resided until 2002. She retired as a Library Assistant from the Public Library in Ft Walton in 1986 and subsequently moved to Pensacola, FL, after her husbands death in 2002. Mrs. Barfield became a member of First United Methodist Church, Ft. Walton Beach, in 1950 and of Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Pensacola when she relocated. She was a member of the United Methodist Women since 1966, when it was known as the Womens Society of Christian Service. Mrs. Barfield is survived by her daughter, Julie Melissa Terrell (Bill), Pensacola, and her son, Timothee Angus Barfield, Tallahassee. She has three grandchildren, Justin Nash Barfield (Angie), Tallahassee, Rebecca Denise Barfield (Craig Hinton), Atlanta and Christopher Douglas Terrell, Atlanta. She is survived by one sister, Minnie Blanche Cook, Box Springs, Georgia and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many special friends in Ft Walton and Pensacola, among them her caregivers for the past year, Caroline McMullen and Joyce Joiner. Visitation will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Monday, April 20, from 5-7 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 5725 N. 9th Avenue, followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Beal Memorial Cemetery, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
