Kari Rebecca Hill, 29, of Pensacola, FL passed away suddenly on Monday, December 28, 2015. Born September 3, 1986,
Kari is the daughter of Kenneth R. "Ron" Hill and Brenda Humphreys Hill, loving sister to Kelli Elise Hill and also leaves behind her special dog, "Peanut."
Kari attended St. John's Catholic School and was a member of the 2005 Pensacola Catholic High School Graduating Class.
Kari, affectionately called "Baby Kari" loved her family, and is survived by her aunts and uncles; George E. Humphreys, Jr. (Jan), Newnan, GA; Michael J. Humphreys, Sr. (Stacie), Duluth, GA.; Mark A. Humphreys, Sr., Pensacola; Georgann Humphreys Elliott (Joe), Pensacola, FL and Joni Kee Humphreys, Pensacola, FL; first cousins; Amanda Humphreys, Brooke Humphreys, Chelsea Humphreys all of Newnan, GA; Ensign Michael J. Humphreys, Jr. ,USN, Katie Humphreys, Megan Humphreys, Kevin Humphreys all of Duluth, GA; Mark A. Humphreys, Jr., Reagan Humphreys, Pensacola, FL and numerous relatives and close family friends.
Kari was preceded in death by her grandparents, George (Punk) and Marie Humphreys, Sr. and Luverne Hill.
Kari found a friend in everyone. Her caring heart and giving nature is evident from all of the kind messages and loving affirmations expressed by so many.
Kari loved the Florida Gators, was a member of the NWFL Gator Club, and took pride in designing their current logo. During football season, you could find Kari donning orange and blue and cheering for the Gators at the Seville Swamp.
One of Kari's biggest passions was being part of the Pensacola Ice Flyer family. As an annual season ticket holder, she was more than just a fan. The Ice Flyers will honor Kari at Friday night's game by placing her Jersey in her reserved seat and holding a moment of cheer and applause. Kari's family is deeply touched by this act of compassion and invites Ice Flyer friends and fans to join them at New York Nick's after the game to celebrate Kari and her love of the Ice Flyers.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 412 Bayshore Dr., Pensacola, FL with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Schumm as celebrant.
