Obituary

Karlie Brooke Franks, 11, of Pace, FL passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Karlie was born in Pensacola, FL to a Navy family. She lived in Virginia, Hawaii, Washington, and Colorado before returning to the Pensacola area 5 years ago. She was the 4th of 5 kids, with one little sister, two big sisters and one big brother. Karlie was curious and loved to explore nature. She loved being outdoors- swimming, surfing, roller-skating, and learning to ride the unicycle. Most of all she was involved in the community at Olive Baptist Church where she grew in her relationship with the Lord.

She had a uniquely creative imagination, which showed through her drawings, writings, teaching herself to knit, making movies with siblings and cousins and inventing a language of her own. An introvert at heart, she was very silly and goofy with those closest to her. Although well-traveled her favorite place was home and spending time with her extended family. Her favorites included Lilo & Stitch, Bluey, knitting, and the color green. You'll never meet a better pancake maker, and she enjoyed a homemade London Fog.

Karlie saved at least 6 lives, still with a potential for a 7th currently. It is rare for one donor to give to so many. This was only possible because her dad and sister instantly did lifesaving compressions, she led a super healthy lifestyle and had O+ blood to be nearly a universal donor. Her body size also allowed for her recipients to range in ages from 11 months all the way to 40 years. Please pray for the recipients and their families. We feel as if we just adopted 6-7 "kids" that we might be able to connect with in the future.

Remember- the only thing you can take with you to heaven is your children.

"Be on your guard; stand firm; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." -1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Survivors include her parents, Joseph & Tiffany (Arachikavitz) Franks; siblings, Riley, Hayden, Macy, and Sadie; grandparents, Michael & Lydia Franks and Daniel & Marinda Arachikavitz; living great-grandparents, Kathryn Franks and Mary Ann Stump; as well as a large extended family.
