Kate "Katie" Elizabeth Adair Carey, 68, of Milton, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John S. Barr, MD and Mary A. Barr and John E. Adair.

Katie is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Danny L. Carey, MD; her son, D. Patrick Carey, and his wife, Rebecca; and two grandchildren. She also leaves behind her three loving sisters, Kathy L. Pate (Jeffery), M. Joan Wiemers (Mike), and M. June Sims (John), along with many loving nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Earlier in life, Katie was an outdoor enthusiast and sports fan. She found great joy in fishing with her family, casting lines everywhere from the serene waters of the White River in Arkansas to the depths of the Gulf of America. She had also been a passionate NASCAR fan who rarely missed a race, always enthusiastically cheering on her favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Kate also loved Alabama football with a passion! This started very early in her life, cheering them on with her grandfather, "Big Daddy".

Above all, Katie’s heart belonged to the ones she loved and her dogs, who were her whole world. She showered endless affection on her two Boston Terriers, Ruby and Pearl, and her beloved rescue dog, River.

Katie will be deeply and surely missed by her countless friends, her family, and her adored puppies.

A funeral service will be held 11:00am Saturday, September, 26, 2026, at Hope Church, 3220 Avalon Blvd., Milton, FL 32583, with Rev. Paul Malson officiating.
