IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Katherine "Kat"
Elaine Wright
December 27, 1960 – July 25, 2017
Katherine Elaine Wright, 56, fondly known as Elaine, Kat, KK, Momma, BabyCakes, Binky, BabySister
was born in Seminary, MS on December 27, 1960 to the union of DeWitt and Katherine Wright.
She graduated from Seminary High School and attended Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS.
Kat had a love for cooking and baking that was initially inspired by watching her mother, the late Katherine Wright, in the kitchen during her childhood. Kat transferred her love for cooking into a successful career in Culinary Arts where she "cooked to perfection" for over 30 years. For the last 12 years Kat was a loyal and dedicated employee of Logan's Roadhouse.
Kat was a fun loving person and enjoyed life! She was a jokester, very outgoing, strong, courageous, bold, smart, intelligent and outspoken. Her friends and family never wondered what was on her mind because she SPOKE it. Kat loved all genres of music, loved to dance and play the trumpet.
She was also a HUGE sports fan and the most loyal STEELER FAN on this planet!
Kat was a very compassionate person. She was a mentor to many, however she has several sons that she held dear to her heart. She certainly was a life-changer. Her love and compassion for people will be unmatched.
In true STEELER fashion Kat came to the final Steel curtain on Tuesday, July 25, 2017.
Kat was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt and Katherine Wright; her grandparents, her sister, Earnestine Barnes and a host of uncles and aunts
Kat is survived by her seven sisters; Zella Wright, Chicago, IL, Helen Hooker, Hattiesburg, MS, Eva Wright, Chicago, IL, Mary Todd (Albert), Chicago, Charlene Wright, McComb, MS, Bonnie Robertson (Vesta), Riverdale, IL and Judy Bolton, Hattiesburg, MS along with eight nieces and nephews and a host of great nieces and nephews.
"A successful life is when they mention your name and just the thought of your name not only puts a smile on their face but it also adds joy to their heart, because their life in some way has been impacted by your life-inspiring them to live." – Torre Scott
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 with visitation at 2pm, followed by reflections beginning at 2:30pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

What's amazing about Kat was while she was fighting cancer she continued to touch the lives of many, even the medical staff.
The family would like to say a "Special Thank You" to the staff of Logan's Roadhouse, Sacred Heart Hospital, West Florida Hospital, Illinois Cancer Center Treatment of America, Covenant Hospice, Woodlands Medical Specialist, Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel and Katherine's many friends.
