Obituary

Kathryn J. (Allbright) Roth, 91, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016.

Kay was born on September 3, 1925 and raised in Kansas, but her life was forever changed in 1944. She married an Air Force pilot, William F. Allbright and began a lifelong world tour adding four children along the way. Libya, Germany and multiple states became home, usually on a 3-year rotation. Raising her children and managing the family affairs were the focus of this stage of her life. Her high energy, compassion, and listening skills attracted many of our friends to our home. With adult children and eventually grandchildren, she drew the family together annually for a family reunion, the highlight of the year. Finally, retirement arrived, and Gulf Breeze was chosen. She embraced the community and joined clubs, bridge and dance groups, the United Methodist Church and the Gulf Breeze Hospital auxiliary. She was always happy, learning and doing for others. She loved life.

William Allbright, died in 1991 and Kay struggled. She returned to her happiness and enjoying her Gulf Breeze activities, when she remarried, James Roth. As a couple, they remained active in bridge, the church and volunteer work, as long as their health permitted.

Kay was preceded in death by her first husband, William F. Allbright and second husband, James Roth.

She is survived by her brother, Jack Sproul of Pleasant Hill, MO; sisters-in-law, Ethlyn Yount (Bruce) of Bloomington, IL and Joan Allbright of Seneca Falls, NY; sons, William F. Allbright, Jr. (Fran) of Ft. Mill, SC and James R. Allbright (Lynn) of Conifer,CO; daughters, Sherry Reynolds of Reading, PA and Pam Miller (Andy) of Cove, OR; as well as 11grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren spread across these United States.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Chapel of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church, followed by a reception at the church. Graveside committal will follow at 1:15pm at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church – Worship at the Water or Children & Youth.

Kay's four children would like to offer thanks to her very special friends who continued to care for her in this last, difficult year of her life.
