Kathryn Louise Ramsey, 96, of Pensacola, FL passed away Monday, April 24, 2023.

Kathryn was born on August 15, 1926, in Pottstown, PA to Paul and Pauline Newcomer. She attended two years of college and married Eugene Ray Carpenter in 1948. Eugene passed away in August of 1963. Later, Kathryn met and ultimately married COL Edward L. Ramsey in January of 1965. Kathryn was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and volunteered her time generously to the church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband and the father of her sons, Eugene Ray Carpenter; her second husband, COL Edward L. Ramsey; her sister, Ruth Eberle; as well as her brother, Sam Newcomer.

Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey W. Carpenter (Susie) of Alexandria, VA and James R. Carpenter of Gulf Breeze, FL; stepdaughter, Sylvia Ann Mitchell (Joe) of Tallahassee, FL and her stepson, Edward L. Ramsey, Jr. of Goodlettsville, TN; as well as 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Azalea Trace Auditorium, with Chaplain Glenn Jago officiating. For those that would like to attend, a funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 1:30pm for a graveside service to begin at 2:00pm Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Azalea Trace Employee Appreciation Fund (ATEAF), C/O Art Huffard, 10100 Hillview Dr., Apt.#2404, Pensacola, FL 32514.
