Kathy A. Tapscott, 69, of Gulf Breeze, FL, passed away peacefully at her home, on Saturday March 22, 2025, with her husband, AG by her side.

Kathy was born February 5, 1956, in Beausejour Manitoba Canada, to Charles Garrett and Peggy Gavin.

Kathy met AG at their workplace in Birmingham, AL, and from there they moved to Montgomery, AL and were married April 5, 1980. In 1984, they made Pensacola, FL their home, while moving to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1988. Together they enjoyed their time at home on the water, boating, crabbing, gardening and entertaining family and friends that came to visit over the years. Kathy loved to read books and magazines and enjoyed scratch-off lottery tickets.

Kathy worked for a few years in local banking and for Gulf Breeze Hospital from July 1994 until her retirement in January 2019. In her career she made many lifelong friends.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Garrett and Peggy Garvin.

She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Arthur "AG" Tapscott; brothers, Kim Garrett (Peggy), Mike and David; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Jerry Murphy; along with many nieces and nephews.

Everyone that met Kathy knew from the first moment what a caring and compassionate person she was. Having her as your friend was one of life's special treasures. She will be forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at The Pointe, 1255 Country Club Rd, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563.
