Kenneth Joe Daniels, 77, of Pensacola passed away peacefully with family and friends at his side on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Ken was born in Ramsey, IL to George and Bessie Daniels. He graduated from Ramsey High School where he lettered in basketball and track. Ken served in the United States Air Force for four years right out of high school. He later worked for Mercantile Inc., Roots Division, in Terre Haute, IN for fifteen years and Gayfers Division in Pensacola, FL as a furniture buyer from 1975 until he retired in 1996. He was a member of East Brent Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leigh, Roy and Ray; sisters, Georgia Watts, Virginia Spires and Barbara Daniels; a son, David Barth; and a daughter, Lynne Daniels. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-five years, Meredith Anne Daniels; children, Mark (Robin), Tim (Amy), Kelly (Joe), Jon (Jennice) and their son, Ryan; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and expecting one more; brothers, Gene (Bev), Jim (Marilyn); sister-in-laws, Zola and Marion, many nieces and nephews; Gloria Connard, mother of his children and his loving and faithful Dalmation, Elle. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday, January 23, 2012, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. Pallbearers will be his children, grandchildren and son-in-law. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Brent Baptist Church, 4801 N. Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503 or to the Parkinsons Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018. The family wishes to thank Creekside Senior Village entire staff and Covenant Hospice, for the loving care they gave to Ken, especially caregiver Shannon and those in cottages 7 & 2.
