Kenneth M. Davis passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was surrounded by family when he went to be with Jesus and his late wife Barbara Ann Davis. Ken battled lung cancer and a number of other health problems but fought until his last breath. That's the kind of man he was. Ken was born in Houma, LA on March 25, 1944. He spent most of his childhood in Talco, TX where he went to school through his junior year in high school. Ken attended LSU and graduated with an engineering degree in 1967. GEAUX TIGAHS!!! That's also where he met his wife Barbara Ann Brown Davis. Ken and Barbara got married in May of 1965 and were happily married for 44 years. Ken spent 4 years in the Air Force and got his graduate degree in business from St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Ken worked for IBM, Loral, Lockheed Martin and finished his career at Scitor. He was a very successful businessman and lived all over the country. His work took him from Houston, TX to Huntsville, AL, back to Houston, TX, to Gaithersburg, MD, to San Jose, CA, to Colorado Springs, CO. In 2005 he and Barbara retired in Pensacola. Ken spent most of his career at IBM where he met lifelong friends. He loved his work and his work trips with Scitor where they partied just as hard as they worked. Ken is survived by his daughter, Kelly and her husband Pete; his son, Judd and wife Bethany; daughter-in-law, Becki; grandkids, Bailey, Hunter, Kaden and Hudson (born on Ken's birthday this year); his sister, Barbara and her husband Dan, his sister, Louise and her husband Johnnie; his brother, Danny and his wife Teresa; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; and an amazing group of friends who pulled for him every step of the way. He was an incredible father, grandfather, family member and friend. He was a proud member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where later in life his faith and belief in God became very strong. Fr. Pat Foley made a big difference in his spiritual life and he was very thankful for that. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 5-7pm at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd. in Pensacola. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 10am from St. Joseph Catholic Church, 140 W. Government St. in Pensacola with Fr. Pat Foley celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Griffen, Frank Fox, Larry Whipple, Hal Garner, John McNellis, Ken Harrelson, Dick Cosgrove and Roy Mabry. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Brad Davis and Jonathon Flanders. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Ken and Barbara Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund.
