Kenneth R. "Ron" Hill, 69, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2016.
Born May 19, 1946, Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years Brenda Humphreys Hill, and daughter Kelli Elise Hill.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kari Rebecca Hill who passed away on December 28, 2015; and his mother, Luverne Hill.
Ron was an educator for over 40 years. He taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at St. John's Catholic School for 18 years. After teaching for 23 years at Catholic High School, he retired in 2010. Coach Hill's lessons went beyond the classroom. He coached football, basketball, baseball, and softball, and influenced the lives of many students and players.
An avid sports fan, Ron was a season ticket holder for the Pensacola Ice Flyers hockey team and loved attending the games with his family. He was a member of the NWFL Gator Club.
He also served his community as a Fire Fighter for the Warrington Volunteer Fire Department from 1979 to 1987.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00am Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 412 Bayshore Dr., Pensacola, FL with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Schumm as celebrant. A celebration of Ron's life will be held in the parish hall immediately following the service.
The Hill family would like to thank family and friends who have shown their love and support over the past few weeks, and extend a special thanks to Ron's "brother" Dave Darville for his care and compassion.
