Kerry Topper, born on March 24, 1956, died August 4 ^, 2022 in her Pensacola, Florida home with family members by her side. Kerry lived with advanced ovarian cancer for 15 years.  Colleen Furano and Jim Deaver served as her dedicated caregivers for the last months of her life.

Kerry was the daughter of Patsy and Jake Dunlop who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her siblings, Colleen Furano, Dan Dunlop (Scotti Harwood), Susan Dunlop, and Sharon McIntyre (John McIntyre); along with a number of nieces and nephews, Tim McIntyre, Michael McIntyre, Tristan Harper, Genevieve Harper, Haley Furano, Olivia Furano, and Meg Cowan.

Kerry came into this world with a fearless spirit which undoubtedly led to her love of sports. She was an accomplished skier, bike racer, hiker, and wind surfer.

Kerry graduated from Essex Junction Educational Center (high school) and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Johnson State College in Johnson, Vermont. The focus of her studies was studio arts which included drawing, painting, sculpture, metal work, and print making.

After her graduation from college, Kerry returned to the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas) where her family lived for several years during her childhood. In St. Thomas, Kerry founded her retail store, Local Color. The store featured clothing, T-shirts, tote bags, beach towels and other items, all carrying flamboyant designs created by Kerry. Her artwork celebrated local scenery and the people of the Virgin Islands. In July 1990, Kerry started Kerry Color Company which produced apparel carrying her custom designs that were then distributed throughout the Caribbean and Florida.

Kerry was a friend to many and never met a stranger. She loved animals of all types, particularly cats and donkeys. Her two cats, Gracie and Norman, were a great comfort to her in her final days.  Kerry also had a love of antiquing and collecting vintage items of all types.

In keeping with Kerry's wishes, there will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Goathouse Cat Refuge, http://www.goathouserefuge.org .
