IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Khaifa Bonogua
Peabody
February 20, 1997 – September 5, 2023
Khaifa Bonogua Peabody, 26, of Pensacola, FL died Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
Khaifa was born on February 20, 1997, in Washington, DC, to the late Alvin Peabody and Kate Peabody. While living in Gainesville, GA, Khaifa attended Chestnut Mountain Elementary School, where he was known for his kind heart. In 2005, he relocated to Pensacola, FL and continued his education at Sacred Heart Cathedral School. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Church. Never straying away from the morals instilled through his upbringing, Khaifa was known at times to stand up for other students. As he transitioned to high school, he became a star athlete. He also served as co-President of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Catholic High School and was inducted into the 2018 Hall of Fame. Upon graduating, Khaifa went on to briefly play football at Alcorn State University in Natchez, MS. He also attended Pensacola State College.
Khaifa was no stranger to hard work. He was a jack of all trades and spent time in construction work. In 2021, he established Eight Fifty Pressure Pros, a small pressure washing company, and later partnered with his friend, Larry Bender. However, Khaifa's dream job was to fly commercial jets. His passion for flying was evident, as he dedicated much time to pursuing his goal. Recently, Khaifa began flight school at Emerald Coast Aviation in Crestview, FL hoping to receive his private pilot license.
When not at work or perfecting his flying skills, Khaifa enjoyed engaging in sports and the stillness of fishing. Still passionate for the game of football, he coached Little League football for the Cantonment Cowboys. He loved his boys, and they loved "Coach Koof"! Khaifa was also a competitive weightlifter. He received several awards in local and regional competitions. Jollof Rice and Cassava Leaf were his favorite dishes, but he did have a thing for Mexican food. He learned his way around the kitchen and could make some mean spicy chicken wings!
He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin D. Peabody.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Kate Peabody; sisters, Sharlee Bendu Peabody and Leigh Alexandria Peabody, both of Miami, FL; his dog, Meech "Meechums" Peabody; as well as a host of relatives and friends.
