Kirbey H. Vickrey was born January 28, 1923 in Camden, AL. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret E. King of Atmore, AL., on his birthday in January, 1945 while stationed at Lowry Field in Denver, CO. He recieved an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force in February, 1946. After relocating to Pensacola, Kirbey initially worked at Muldon Motor Company. Then in 1955, Eastern Airlines offered him a Customer Service Agent position at the Pensacola Airport where he remained until retiring in 1985.

Kirbey was ordained as a deacon in the priesthood of The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The church became Community of Christ where 'Uncle Kirbey', as he was known by virtually everyone, continued to be an active member for 68 years.

Kirbey died peacefully at home in Pensacola on Monday morning, January 18, 2016. Survivors include his son, Richard, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret King Vickrey, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Vickrey, and all of his siblings.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 22, at 11a.m. at Community of Christ North Pensacola Congregation located at 3190 E. Olive Road. Elders Betty Dixon, Bill Young and Bill Willis will be officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. An additional visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Community of Christ preceding the funeral. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
