Miss Kitty Sue Wiggins went home to Jesus on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the age of 96.
Miss Wiggins was born October 16, 1919 in Monroeville, AL, the fourth child of Charlie Coopper and Mary Elizabeth Wiggins. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Julius Leslie Wiggins, Charlie Willard Wiggins, Mary Elizabeth Wiggins Veach, George Cooper Wiggins, and Charlie Clinton Wiggins.
Survivors include her twin nieces, Martha Daniels (Tom) and Susan Caruthers (Larry), daughters of George and Ernestine Wiggins; her great niece, Patricia Caruthers, her great-nephew, Larry Caruthers, Jr. and his wife Cheryl and their two sons, Logan and Austin. She especially enjoyed time spent with her nieces in their childhood years. Miss Wiggins' life was one of unassuming humility and service to others. She faithfully supported New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and served at First Baptist Church Pensacola throughout her life. She served during War World II in Washington, D.C., later transferred to New Orleans, LA, and eventually to Pensacola, FL as the administrative assistant to the Commanding Officer of Saufley Field. She will remain in our hearts forever.
Services will be held in Pleitz Chapel at First Baptist Church of Pensacola, 500 N. Palafox St., Pensacola, FL 32502 with visitation at 10:00am and services at 11:00am on Thursday, September 29, 2016. Dr. Barry Howard will officiate. Burial follows at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
